The current Belle Rouge Farm dates back to the 1800s, although it is believed to date back even further to the 1700s. Dan Graham purchased Belle Rouge in 1980, when it was originally known as Gatchels Manor. The current house was rebuilt in 1850, upon the original foundation. Belle Rouge was not always located in North East Maryland, according to land documents. Up until the 1800s, Belle Rouge was located in Nottingham, Pennsylvania, until the state border line shifted Belle Rouge into Maryland.
